Dexter Park, located in the unique community of Kagel Canyon, tucked in the Angeles National Forest, emerged in the late 1880’s as a mining town. Nathaniel Weaton Dexter donated the 40 acres of park land and in 1954, the Board of Supervisors adopted the official name of Dexter Park. Mr. Dexter dedicated the park on April 11, 1959.
