The County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation conducts many special golf programs throughout the year.  Listed below are many of the annual programs offered.

The Los Angeles County Junior Golf Program – Free golf lessons are offered year-round at our golf courses.  After school programs are from 3:45 p.m. until 5:00 p.m. and are offered from January through June.  Summer programs are offered from 9:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m., 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. and from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Yearly sign ups are first come first served and limited space is available at each location.  

July is Junior Golfer Appreciation Month – During the month of July, junior golfers can play golf at each location for $1.00, when accompanied by a full paying partner after 12:00 p.m. dally.

The Los Angeles County Junior Golf Championships – Held each summer at five various locations, with the top three finishers in each age division at each location qualifying for the Championship Final where seven Los Angeles County Junior Golf Champions are awarded each year.

The Len Kennett Junior Golf Championship – Held annually at Lakewood Golf Course and is traditionally the largest junior event of the year, celebrating over fifty years of hosting junior golf tournaments.

The Los Angeles County Four-Ball Championship – Held annually at two of the premier County golf courses each year, normally in April, and welcomes all partners for this two day championship.

The Los Angeles County Women’s Golf Championship – Held annually at Lakewood Golf Course on the last Thursday and Friday in July.

The Los Angeles County Men’s Amateur Golf Championship – A 2-day event held annually at Lakewood Golf Course and Los Verdes Golf Course on the Saturday and Sunday of Labor Day weekend.

The Los Angeles County George Leier Senior Golf Championship – Held annually at Lakewood Golf Course and on the last Thursday and Friday in September.

The Los Angeles County Team Play – Open to all men’s golf clubs and is played on four consecutive Sundays, from September through October.

The Los Angeles County Partners Cup – Open to all club members from Los Angeles County golf courses and is played in four sections of the County in a Ryder Cup style event.  Winners from each quadrant play for the final of the Partners Cup.

Veteran’s Day Promotion – Held annually on Veteran’s Day and offers all retired and active duty military personnel half off on greens fees at County golf courses.

The Los Angeles County Masters – An invitational golf event held for golf club champions, including men, women, juniors and seniors, played over two weekend days in December at one Los Angeles County golf course and one Los Angeles City golf course.

The Los Angeles County Golf Club – The Los Angeles County Golf Club offers a unique opportunity to play and experience the Los Angeles County Golf System. From the foothills of the San Gabriel Mountains to the coastline overlooking the Pacific Ocean, you will be treated to monthly events at our scenic facilities which cater to individual player of all skills.
