When we think of the holidays, we envision colorful lights, shimmering ornaments, snow and hot cocoa. The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation, in collaboration with the Friends of Castaic Lake, have added some SoCal flare to the beloved tradition with its 24th Annual Castaic Lake Winter Magic and Lighted Boat Parade, Saturday, Dec. 2, starting at 2 p.m.

Festivities kick off at Paradise Cove on the Lower Lagoon at Castaic Lake State Recreation Area, 32132 Castaic Lake Dr., Castaic. with real snow, food, snacks and of course, Santa, who will hand out goodies to everyone!

Toys-For-Tots will also be accepting an unwrapped toy worth $10 in exchange for 10 raffle tickets. You may also bring a canned food item and receive one raffle ticket for a chance at winning great prizes.

Decorate your boat and join the parade and you might win a cash prize of $200 for 1st place, $100 for 2nd and $50 for 3rd place. Register your boat by emailing: or call the Castaic Lake office at: (661) 257-4050.
