The Crescenta Valley Dog Park has been closed out of an abundance of caution following reports from dog owners noticing their pets having become sick after visiting the site.

The Dog Park was closed at 1 p.m., June 12, and will remain shut down until further notice.

After receiving reports of dogs getting sick, the Department of Parks and Recreation immediately followed established procedures and contacted the Los Angeles County Department of Animal Care and Control, which will determine the cause of illness.

The Department of Animal Care and Control will advise our Department on a course of action for cleaning the Dog Park, as well as how long the site should remain closed. We will provide advance notification of when the park will reopen as soon as it is available.

We appreciate your patience, and please know that the safety of your dog is our priority.
