Are you searching for an exciting and rewarding career? Do you love water, sun and our beautiful California weather? Then we have the perfect job for you!
Consider joining our team and become a Los Angeles County lake lifeguard. If you have the ability to swim 1,000 meters in 18 minutes or less, and you’re age 18 (or will be 18 by June 16, 2018), you’re already a step ahead of the game!
Swim tests will take place on Saturday, Dec. 2, from 8 a.m. to noon, at Arcadia Pool, 405 S. Santa Anita Ave., Arcadia; and Sunday, Dec. 10, from 8 a.m. to noon, at San Fernando Pool, 208 Park Ave., San Fernando.
Those interested should apply online at http://hr.lacounty.gov, or on the day of the swim test at the two locations mentioned above. Candidates must be prepared with bathing suits and towels when taking the qualifying swim test. Applicants who will be 18 years-old by June 16, 2018, may take the swim test, but will be placed on a “withhold” status until they’ve met the age requirement.
Candidates must be high school graduates (or its equivalent), and must show such proof at the time of their swim test. A valid California “Class C” Driver License is required, and applicants need to have at least a 20/30 vision in each eye without corrective lenses.
Once the candidate has passed the swim test, he or she must complete a basic course of instruction approved and paid for by Los Angeles County that includes advanced lifesaving, first aid and cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR).
If you’re hired, did we mention an attractive $19.95 starting hourly rate?
Mark your calendars, start training, stay focused and we hope you can be part of our ever-growing team!
