PROJECT DESCRIPTION:  The proposed project will include replacement of the existing multipurpose grass field area with a synthetic turf soccer field, a practice field and two new futsal courts. Additionally, the project will include field related improvements such as field drainage, new field fencing, perimeter walkways, and adjustments to the existing field lighting and irrigation system.

EXEMPT STATUS: Categorical Exemption

TYPE, SECTION OR CODE: 15301 (d), 15303 (d)(e) and 15304 (a)(b)

REASONS FOR EXEMPTION: The proposed project is categorically exempt under CEQA according to sections 15301 (d), 15303 (d)(e) and 15304 (a)(b), because the project provides for minor alteration of existing public facilities; installation of small new structures and utility extensions; grading on land with a slope of less than 10 percent; new landscaping; and will not involve the removal of healthy, mature, and scenic trees.

In addition, based on the proposed project records, it will comply with all applicable regulations, and it is not in a sensitive environment, and there are no cumulative impacts, unusual circumstances, damage to scenic highways, listing on hazardous waste site lists compiled pursuant to Government Code section 65962.5, or indications that it may cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historical resource that would make the exemption inapplicable.
