The Department of Parks and Recreation is proposing construct and operate a publicly accessible aquatics center on 3.1-acre site within the Temple Academy public elementary school campus which is no longer operational as of June 2021. The project would include two swimming pools (i.e., 55-yard by 25-yard competitive pool, and 27-yard by 25-yard practice pool), an approximately 10,800-square foot pool building, and additional facilities including a parking lot, spectator bleachers, and electronic scoreboard as well as a new one-acre park that would include an exercise area, barbeque area, shade structure, potential pollinator garden, plaza and outdoor amphitheater. read more
