NRPA awards our Parks After Dark program the “Best in Innovation” award!
It is with great pride and excitement that we announce that our Department has won the National Recreation and Park Association’s (NRPA) “Best in Innovation” award among the four NRPA Innovation winners in Health, Conservation, Social Equity and Park Design.
The award recognized our Parks After Dark Program, which provided families with free programs and activities at 33 County parks during summer evenings. The announcement was made at NRPA’s Opening Conference Session. We are very proud of our collective engagement in the nationally recognized Parks and After Dark program!
At the NRPA conference in Indianapolis, Los Angeles County was highlighted for its commitment to integrating parks and families with mental health services and youth employment. Our inter-department collaboration was also key to this Best in Innovation Award!
We wish to thank everyone who voted for and supported us to be selected as the NRPA’s “Best in Innovation” award winner!
