The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation invites the public to celebrate Juneteenth at three of our County parks.
The observance of Juneteenth is about the journey and achievements of African Americans. It’s a story of pride, resilience and determination that will always be of historical and spiritual importance as it helps us to better understand that obstacles can be overcome, no matter how big they are.
The Department will hold various free events at three County parks that include photo exhibits, parades, music, food, games, stories, informational booths and poem readings. These events will provide opportunities to learn more about Juneteenth and its significance to the African American community and within the history of our country as well.
