HOLIDAY IN THE PARK

Join LA County Parks this holiday season at 25 park locations for a night of festive family fun! Enjoy special holiday characters, snacks, arts & crafts, games, caroling, special performances, music, children’s story time and more!

PARKS AFTER DARK WINTER WONDERLAND
December 6 – 21, 2024 | ALL AGES WELCOME
On Fridays and Saturdays from December 6 to December 21, LA County Parks will be transformed into enchanting holiday destinations with 40 to 80 tons of snow for sled runs and snow play. Youth ages 0-17 can participate in a toy giveaway from Santa and his helpers (while supplies last).

RECREATION
FISHING DERBY
December 2024
SATURDAY | 8:00am-12:00pm
AGES: Youth (5- 15 yrs)
December 2024 at Belvedere Park and Kenneth Hahn Park. Join LA County Parks for a day of fishing, food, and fun. Youth can win awards for the biggest fish caught (per age group) and no fishing license is required.
Registration NOT required! Walk-ups are welcomed.
YOUTH SPORTS LEAGUES
Dates and Time Vary on Sport and Location
All youth deserve the chance to play sports! From Youth and Girls Basketball, Water Polo and Swim Team. LA County Parks is proud to offer something for everyone at the low cost of $25 per youth league. Learn more and register today at reservations.lacounty.gov.
EVERY BODY PLAYS

AGES: Youth
Participate in fun, winter afterschool activities for FREE at your local LA County Park! Join us one at one of 59 LA County Parks locations for our Every Body Plays Drop-In Afterschool Adventures program that offers a safe space where youth can come play, create friendships and partake in activities such as fitness, self-care, sports, arts, games, creative outlets like storytelling and ESTEAM (Environment, Science Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math).

FREE SNACK PROGRAM
September 3, 2024- May 23, 2025
MONDAY – FRIDAY | 3:00pm-4:00pm
AGES: Youth
Children and youth ages 18 and under receive a “grab and go” nutritious snack that include vegetables, fruits, seeds and healthy dairy products like milk, string cheese and yogurt, at 59 locations. This free nutrition program will run for a total 35 weeks. Please see dates below for when the program will not be offered due to county holidays.

NATURE CENTERS
Every Body Explores
December 2, 2024 – February 22, 2025
TUESDAY – SUNDAY 10:00AM – 4:00PM
The Every Body Explores program provides participants of all ages an opportunity to explore Natural Areas parks through educational hand on activities and the ability to check out a Naturalist field backpack. Participants can complete self-guided activities, make observations & explore the park!
Nature Center Discovery

Every Saturday 10AM & 12PM
Join us Saturday mornings for a meet and greet with a Natural Areas Superintendent! Learn more about your nature center, ask questions, and find out fun ways to make the most of your visit!
AQUATICS

Available only at 6 year-long pools. Registration required unless otherwise indicated.
LA County Parks is here to provide year-round locations for you to visit and enjoy! Whether you are looking to get some light aerobic exercise in our Adult Aqua Exercise class, learning the building blocks with our Learn to Swim Program or mastering your skills through our Novice Swim Team (year-round facilities only), LA County Parks has something for you! This winter, participants can register for classes, swim lessons, sports programs, family camping or even rent a facility online 24/7. For the convivence of our park goers, all registration must be competed online via our ActiveNet reservation system.
