TOASTMASTERS
The Toastmasters International Youth Leadership Program consists of youth leadership training clubs that focus on the strategies and techniques necessary to teach youth important leadership skills and effective public speaking. The program focuses on encouraging teen participants to create unique and effective ways to positively affect the communities in which they live. In the past, teens participated by visiting local senior citizen centers, collecting canned goods, clothing, blankets and by doing beautification projects in their parks and neighborhoods. The program is an extension of the youth’s academic activities. Researching and developing essays and presentations on improving intergroup relations, addressing gang violence, and violence against the homeless and the poor are a part of this growing program.
