Love the outdoors? Have a hankering to aim at a target?  You’re in luck! LA County has areas dedicated to just that.  From disc golf to lawn bowling to skeet shooting, LA County has just what you need.

Come and discover the joy of hitting your target!

Disc golf courses consist of targets across a course into which small plastic discs are thrown. Players walk from target to target much like regular golf. Disc golf courses range in size and and difficulty. Please contact the locations below for more information on Disc Golf Courses.

Handball is a sport in which players use their hands to hit a small rubber ball against a wall so that it bounces off in such a way that their opponent cannot return it. This high energy game is fun for all ages.

This outdoor game is played between two people (or two teams of two people) using four horseshoes and two throwing targets (stakes) set in a sandbox area. The parks below offer this amenity and players bring their own equipment.

Lawn Bowling is a unique and fun outdoor sport offered at one of our parks! The sport can be played by children as young as 10 and by the young at heart. Lessons must be scheduled through the Santa Anita Bowling Green Club. For fees and general information, please call (626) 351-5327. The park has four bowling greens for your enjoyment!

Whittier Narrows Recreation Area is equipped with a shooting range for rifle and skeet shooting. The range is independently operated; please contact the park for information or call (626) 575-5526.

Skateboarding is an exciting sport that can be enjoyed at all levels.

That’s why the Department of Parks and Recreation has several skate parks and skate areas where participants can skateboard in a safe and enjoyable environment. Each skate park is designed specifically to provide unique challenges to its users.

Please be sure to bring your helmet along with arm, elbow and knee pads, and enjoy your visit at one of our Skate Parks.
