THE GREAT OUTDOORS

Tired of city life? Yearning to wake up to the sound of wind blowing between tree leaves and birds chirping?  You’re in luck! LA County has over a dozen areas dedicated to camping.  Whether you prefer glamping in an RV or roughing-it in a tent, LA County offers campsites for all.  And if you want to catch your dinner, there are stocked lakes to fill your appetite.  So whatever your interest, LA County has something for everyone.

CAMPING

The County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation has beautiful camping facilities. Camp at one of our campgrounds and enjoy a variety of fun recreational activities including hiking, biking, swimming, boating, and sleeping under the stars. For tent, RV and group camping, reservations are required.

FISHING

The Department of Parks and Recreation has several natural and man-made fishing lakes that are stocked with different types of fish throughout the year. Some lakes offer rental of equipment and bait. Rules and regulations vary from park to park and a fishing license is required for those 16 years of age and older except on pre-determined Free Fishing Days. Licenses may be purchased at local sporting stores and online at www.DFG.org. Please contact your favorite lake for more information before your fishing day.
