A Winter Wonderland is Coming!

LA County’s Parks After Dark Program promises to offer a FREE magical getaway for families to celebrate the joy of the holidays together. Come enjoy 40 to 80 tons of snow in your local park with sled runs and play areas. Come get away with us this winter in LA County Parks.

The Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation proudly maintains 181 parks for you! Local parks have playgrounds, organized sports, special programs and classes from swimming lessons to aerobics to Teen Clubs.

Winter Classes

Whether you’re taking up a new hobby, learning a new skill or being more active, LA County Parks invites you to join our Winter Classes for all ages! We’re offering a variety of in-person and virtual classes to help you get active, stay healthy, and enjoy a new hobby. From yoga and sports to music and arts, there is a class for everyone! Classes start soon and registration is on a rolling basis.

Drop In Recreation

Every Body Plays Drop-in Recreation Adventures is offered from 2:30 pm to 5:30 p.m. Monday thru Friday at 56 parks.  This FREE non-custodial 35-week drop-in program launches September 6 and runs until May 26.   Children can enjoy a snack with their friends at select parks from 3-4 pm daily at select parks.  The program provides children ages 7 thru 17 with access to caring and trained park staff who serve as mentors and lead an array of programs and activities.  These activities range from sports, fitness, arts and crafts, STEM, group games, story time and so much more.  Every day is an adventure in LA County Parks! Sites will observe all County holidays and the program is closed November 21-23 and December 19-30.  

Dive in with Aquatics!

Just because summer is over, doesn’t mean we stop swimming! This fall, our over 30+ pools are returning with a variety of fun and engaging programming for you and the entire family. LA County Parks Operations Plan for fiscal year 2021/2022 was developed with centering equity, access and commitment to programming. The hours of operations of parks and programs promote equitable access to the public.  The Operations Plan also provides an overview of the key core programs offered by LA County Parks, information on the rental fees to access the facilities and provides important contact information for the main offices.
