PROJECT DESCRIPTION: The proposed project includes the replacement of two fishing piers at Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park. The project includes demolishing and disposing of the existing damaged fishing piers, replacing the existing fixed pier with new floating piers, providing Americans with Disability Act (ADA) improvements to nearby path of travel and restrooms, and related improvements. The project will also include installation of multilingual interpretive signage to provide an enhanced experience for visitors.

EXEMPT STATUS: Categorical Exemption
Type, Section or Code: 15301(l),15302(c), 15303 (e), and 15304 (a)
REASONS FOR EXEMPTION: The proposed project is categorically exempt under CEQA according to sections 15301 (l), 15302(c), 15303(e) and 15304 (a), because the project provides for demolition and of individual small structures, replacement or reconstruction of existing utility systems and/or facilities, construction of small new structures, and minor alterations to land.
In addition, based on the proposed project records, it will comply with all applicable regulations, and it is not in a sensitive environment, and there are no cumulative impacts, unusual circumstances, damage to scenic highways, listing on hazardous waste site lists compiled pursuant to Government Code section 65962.5, or indications that it may cause a substantial adverse change in the significance of a historical resource that would make the exemption inapplicable.
