Event at East LA College attended by 400 girls
Approximately 400 girls gathered at East Los Angeles College on Saturday, Nov. 10, to attend workshops, listen to inspirational speeches and participate in various activities aimed at empowering them to reach for the stars.
The Girls Empowerment Conference was sponsored by the Department of Parks and Recreation, in partnership with East Los Angeles College. It encouraged girls to turn up the volume on their own voices, and believe in a life of endless possibilities by building confidence, exploring pathways to college and living their dreams.
This empowering event offered girls and young women ages 11-18 an opportunity to build confidence, further their education, and encouraged them to live their lives to the fullest! The Girls Empowerment Conference also provided girls with an opportunity to go on a campus tour of East Los Angeles College, network and much more.
The Department of Parks and Recreation strives to provide girls with meaningful experiences that help enhance their lives by providing them with useful tools and pathways for a prosperous future.
