JOHN ANSON FORD THEATER (JAFT) PROPOSED TRAIL PROJECT
Third Supervisorial District
The proposed John Anson Ford Theater (JAFT) Trail Project (currently in the pre-planning stages) is proposed as a “natural” hiking trail experience serving urban recreational purposes. The planned trail will uniquely “surround” and skirt the periphery of the historical landmark’s hillside and naturally vegetated property, set within a highly urbanized broader context. The planned trail will include two (2) or more trailheads or access points which may be accessed by the public and theater users alike. In addition, scenic view “rest stop (s)” or outlooks will be incorporated in strategic locations along the planned trail, where optimal views (are provided to hikers) of historic Southern California landmarks such as the Griffith Park Observatory, The Capital Records Building, Downtown Los Angeles and the “HOLLYWOOD” sign integrated all within the Hollywood Hills and surrounding areas.
