Group of people celebrating Black History Month

The Department of Parks and Recreation invites the public to celebrate Black History Month at several of our County parks during the month of February.

Black History Month celebrates past and present achievements of African Americans, and our Department proudly joins in the festivities that honor the history and contributions of African Americans.

The Department will hold various free events at County parks that include photo exhibits, parades, music, food, games, stories and poem readings. These events will provide opportunities for the entire family to learn more about some of the most wonderful aspects and contributions of the African American community.

Please join us during the month of February to celebrate Black History Month! Click here to find an event near you.
