LOS ANGELES – In the best interest of park guests, communities and staff, the Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation (LA County Parks) is temporarily closing several park locations, programming, and amenities and canceling specific programming due to poor air quality until further notice. LA County Parks will access conditions on a daily basis before reopening these facilities. Reopening is contingent on air quality and safety measures. Below is a list of affected locations and programming.
LA COUNTY PARKS LOCATIONS
The following locations remain closed:
- Eaton Canyon Natural Area
- Devil’s Punchbowl Natural Area
- San Dimas Canyon Natural Area
PAD IN MOTION CLOSED
PAD In Motion programming on Thursday, September 17, and Saturday, September 19, is canceled. Please see below for a list of parks. We hope to return next week to our regularly scheduled PAD In Motion events, contingent on air quality and safety measures. For future dates and locations, please visit parks.lacounty.gov/padinmotion.

OVERNIGHT FAMILY FISHING & CAMPING PROGRAM RESCHEDULED
Overnight Family Fishing and Camping programming scheduled for Friday, September 11, will now be rescheduled for Friday, September 25, contingent on air quality and safety measures. This includes programming at:
- Castaic Lake State Recreation Area
- Frank G. Bonelli Regional Park
- Kenneth Hahn State Recreation Area
- Whittier Narrows Recreation Area
ALL SPLASH PADS CLOSED
All splash pads are closed. Reopening is contingent on air quality and safety measures.
SPECIFIC NATURAL AREAS AND TRAILS CLOSED
The following natural areas and trails remain closed:
- Devil’s Punchbowl Natural Area
- Eaton Canyon Natural Area
- San Dimas Canyon Natural Area
