Visit LA County Parks this spring for fun, recreation and adventure! We are offering a variety of new, FREE and paid programs for youth and families, ranging from sports clinics and nature exploration programs to aquatics and many other exciting programs that you’ll find below. Whether it be one or all of these activities, there’s something for every body this spring with LA County Parks!

ONLINE REGISTRATION IS HERE!

This spring, participants can register for classes, swim lessons, sports programs, family camping or even rent a facility online 24/7.  For the convivence of our park goers, all registration must be competed online via our ActiveNet reservation system. Get started today by setting up an account at Los Angeles County Online Reservations and Registration (activecommunities.com). Drop-in programs do not require registration!

CULTURAL & COMMUNITY EVENTS

SPRING JUBILEE

March 20 – March 30, 2024 | ALL AGES WELCOME
Join us as we celebrate upcoming the Spring Jubilee events throughout Los Angeles County. Events will include Performances, Workshops, Egg Hunts, Edible Crafts, Community Activities, Food Tastings and more at your local LA County Park.

SPRING PARKS AFTER DARK

March 21 – April 13, 2024 | ALL AGES WELCOME
Parks After Dark returns for the spring season with FREE activities at 34 LA County Parks. Bring your family and friends and explore all the art and culture activities we have to offer. Dust off your dancing shoes and join us for a night full of music and dance and a variety of free activities for the whole family!

PARK AT SUNSET

May 2 – 11, 2024 | ALL AGES WELCOME
Come fuel your soul by attending a free drop-in activity during sunset at an LA County Park near you. From meditation, yoga, dance and canvas painting, there are lots of family friendly activities to choose from.

ASIAN AMERICAN PACIFIC ISLANDER HERITAGE MONTH

May 16 – 31, 2024 | ALL AGES WELCOME

Celebrate Asian and Pacific Islander American Heritage Month with LA County Parks! Learn about the history, culture, and achievements of this diverse community through various events and activities. Enjoy performances, arts & crafts, food tastings, and more throughout May.

RECREATION

EVERY BODY PLAYS

September 5, 2023 – May 24, 2024
MONDAY – FRIDAY | 2:30pm-5:30pm
AGES: Youth
Enjoy FREE spring fun at your nearest LA County Park after school! Come to any of the 55 LA County Parks and join our EveryBody Plays Drop-In Afterschool Adventures program. You can have fun, make friends, and try out different activities like fitness, self-care, sports, arts, games, and more. You can also express yourself through storytelling and ESTEAM (Environment, Science Technology, Engineering, Arts and Math).

CONTRACT CLASSES

Classes and registration are on a rolling basis now through May 25. Whether you’re taking up a new hobby, discovering a skill or being more active, LA County Parks has a class for everyone. Prices vary per class.

FREE SNACK PROGRAM

September 5, 2023 – May 24, 2024
MONDAY – FRIDAY | 3:00pm-4:00pm
AGES: Youth
Children and youth ages 18 and under receive a nutritious snack that include vegetables, fruits, seeds and healthy dairy products like milk, string cheese and yogurt, at 46 locations. This free nutrition program will run for a total 35 weeks. Please see dates below for when the program will not be offered due to county holidays.

FISHING DERBY

SATURDAY | 8:00am-12:00pm
AGES: Youth (5- 15 yrs)
Join LA County Parks for a day of fishing, food, and fun. Youth can win awards for the biggest fish caught (per age group) and no fishing license is required.

LA County Parks is proud to offer something for everyone with low-cost registration fees because all youth deserve the chance to play sports! Spring sports include co-ed Baseball, Girls Softball, Dodgers Dreamteam, Youth Volleyball clinics, Youth Basketball, Tennis*, and Golf*.

NATURE CENTERS

Every Body Explores

February 26 – May 25, 2024
TUESDAY – FRIDAY 2:30PM – 4:30PM // SATURDAY 10:00AM – 1:30PM

Every Body Explores program provides participants of all ages an opportunity to explore Natural Areas parks through educational hand on activities and the ability to check out a Naturalist field backpack. Participants can complete self-guided activities, make observations & explore the park!

Nature Center Discovery

February 26 -May 25, 2024
Every Saturday 10AM & 12PM

Join us Saturday mornings for a meet and greet with a Natural Areas Superintendent! Learn more about your nature center, ask questions, and find out fun ways to make the most of your visit!

AQUATICS

Learn to Swim

Registration Ongoing | AGES 7-17
Prepare for the summer and strengthen your swimming skills! Our Learn to Swim lessons teach core swimming skills, water safety and stroke technique while steadily progressing through the core skills and strokes aligned with the American Red Cross. Classes start at $25 per session.

Swim Team

Swim Team introduces competitive swimming for youth, ages 7 to 17. This program introduces novice swimmers to the competitive world of swimming and focuses on developing good sportsmanship and proper stroke technique. Must be able to swim at a level 3 and comfortable in the water. Registration fees are $25 for a 10-week league.

Water Exercise

This is an instructor led aquatic exercise program that allows the participant to get a great workout without the impact on joints and other body parts that traditional aerobics classes create. This program is offered to adults ages 18 and older and is conducted in both deep and shallow water. Participants must be comfortable in the water and have a proper bathing swim attire. $35 a month for ages 18 and above. 

Lap Swim

Swim laps in pools with swimming lanes. $15/5 punch card. $80/30 punch card. 

Everybody Swims

Open pools for everyone of any age. Free every Saturday from 2-4 p.m.
