Our Mission is to be a World-Class Parks and Recreation Organization.
As Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation is welcoming all Special Events which provide a positive public service and meet a legitimate public need, we must ensure the integrity of these valuable resources so that all who visit in years to come will be able to enjoy it. It is our job to limit any potential expenses to the public that could result from the private use of the grounds for Special Events. Therefore, all costs associated with a special event are included in this process.
Depending on the size, type, program, and length of the Special Event, the following County and State Departments may require permits from the organizer/promoter of the Special Event in addition to Los Angeles County Department of Parks and Recreation:
Cal Trans, California Highway Patrol, Los Angeles County Fire Department, Los Angeles County Department of Health Services, Los Angeles County Department of Public Works, Los Angeles County Sheriff Department, Los Angeles County Department of Treasurer and Tax Collector, US Army Corps of Engineers, Los Angeles County Department of Animal Control, and Alcoholic Beverage Control.
We have an internal group dedicated to support you through the permitting process with all other Departments. We provide location maps, technical specs, blank permit applications, contact lists, and master security/fire/traffic/clean-up plans as they may be and become available.
