ADOPT A PARK FAQs

What is the Adopt a Park program?

A collaborative effort between the County of Los Angeles Department of Parks and Recreation, the Los Angeles County Parks Foundation a 501 (c) (3) non-profit foundation and the private sector for the purpose of adopting a new or existing scholastic, recreational, beautification, maintenance project, or unmet needs project for any park, hiking trail, nature area, or garden in Los Angeles County or unincorporated area.

Your organization’s involvement will enhance visibility and promote your organization’s commitment to meeting the needs of the residents who utilize County parks. Funding will augment, rather than supplant public funding. The Adopt a Park Program will have a significant impact within the community.

Who can Adopt a Park?

Any individual, business, non-profit organization, or a corporation can improve the quality of life for residents with a special emphasis on the needs of children, their social, mental, and physical well-being. The goal of the program is to achieve a public / private collaboration, promote strategic examples involving park programs, sponsorship opportunities, and community participation. Organizations have long known that investing in communities where their employees and customers live and work makes good business sense.

Where are the Adopt a Park locations?

Communities include: Altadena, Arcadia, Carson, Cerritos, Compton, Duarte, East Los Angeles, El Monte, La Puente, Lancaster, Littlerock, Palmdale, Pearblossom, San Gabriel Valley, South Los Angeles, and Watts. These are just a few of the many locations where Los Angeles County has park locations.
